We are currently seeking a passionate and strategic Programn Manager & Recruiter to support one of our clients in launching and managing a high-impact internship program. This role is initially a 2-month contract with a clear path to a full-time opportunity, including a performance bonus, if hired permanently. You’ll play a key role in shaping a program that places college students into paid internship roles working at public schools to support children with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs). These interns accompany students to therapy sessions, take notes, report progress to teachers, and provide instructions on areas for continued development.

This role is ideal for someone with both program management / recruiting expertise working with college student populations and a passion for helping K-12 kids with learning differences succeed. If you’ve personally worked with IEPs—or are a parent of a child with an IEP—you’ll understand just how meaningful this work is.  This opportunity also provides the college student interns a paid opportunity to obtain career-relevant exposure and experience which is vital for putting themselves on a pathway toward a well-paying and meaningful career in therapy or education – and if they perform well, to have an employer who will structure work-and-learn opportunities through a master’s degree until the student reaches full certification.

Responsibilities:
  • Source, recruit, and hire college students enrolled in community colleges or local public universities for hands-on internships in public schools.
  • Coordinate scheduling for interns across multiple school sites in a given school district to ensure interns show up to work and complete their responsibilities.
  • Manage and mentor interns throughout the duration of the program to ensure high retention
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and refine the structure of the internship program.
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the program.
  • Ensure interns are properly trained to act professionally and work effectively with children who have IEPs
  • Support performance reviews, gather feedback, and identify program improvement opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison between interns and client (who is working with therapy staff, and classroom teachers).
  • Set up and manage dashboard on intern performance / KPIs such as attendance, timeliness, effectiveness, and retention.  Ensure all intern progress updates are documented and communicated effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Five (5)+ years of experience in program management, recruiting, or HR.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (HR, Psychology, Education).
  • Experience writing SOPs or designing scalable systems/processes.
  • Experience working with and managing real-time performance dashboards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A strategic mindset with a passion for building programs from the ground up.
  • Experience recruiting or placing college students.
  • Familiarity with IEPs and/or experience working with children with learning differences.
  • Prior experience working in education, healthcare, or social services is a plus.
Location: This is a remote position, but the right candidate should live in the Central or Eastern time zone to align best with project schedules.
