Fierce Outcomes advises educational institutions, employers, and state leaders in education and workforce.  Its founder has a data science background and led the education sector advanced analytics efforts at BCG and McKinsey.  Fierce has two twin goals: first, to improve student outcomes by building education-employer partnerships to close talent supply-demand gaps.  Second, to transform educational institutions’ perceived value by improving their graduate outcomes, translating to increased enrollment and greater willingness to pay.  We work with educational institutions either directly or via states, associations, employers, or edtech partners, serving higher education to K-12 to early childhood.  

Fierce Outcomes is hiring a contract Data Analyst or Data Modeling Consultant to support several projects including one that is near term. The role will involve cleaning and structuring messy datasets, running exploratory analyses, and applying light machine learning models to help generate clear, actionable insights.

Scope of Work:

• Clean and structure datasets to prepare them for modeling.
• Perform bivariate and other exploratory analysis.
• Build predictive models using logistic regression, classification and regression trees, or similar.
• Deliver insights and summaries that can inform strategic education and workforce decisions.
• Collaborate with Fierce Outcomes leadership and client leadership to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Comfort with data cleaning work.
• Strong experience with descriptive and predictive analysis.
• Expertise coding in Python, R, or Stata.
• Experience working in consulting firms given deadlines and deliverables structure.  
• Available at least 20 hours per week for next few weeks , with additional availability during peak periods.
• Previous experience working with education-related data is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a focus on actionable, decision-supporting insights.
